Returning furniture to its former glory
Chairplan were approached by the Gladstone Working Men’s Club over at Finedon, near Wellingborough, to completely overhaul the bench seating in the main bar area.
The existing bench seating, that was fitted along one wall which included a bay window, was in need of refurbishing to improve comfort and to match the newly upgraded, decorated and carpeted bar area at the Club.
Seating that complies with latest legislation
Refurbishing bespoke furniture requires planning to ensure a successful project and so John, our MD and designer, worked closely with the Club team to understand their requirements and establish budget and timescales.
A clear priority was the need to ensure the seating complied with the latest legislation. We recommended the removal of the seat and back springs so that the units could be rebuilt with the latest approved foams and fabrics. As part of this process we provided various samples of foams and fabrics alongside our recommendations.
Completed in just 6 weeks
We had six weeks to complete this project which included removal of all the bench seating to our Royston warehouse, completing the work and reinstalling.
The project included:
- New up to date combustion modified ether foam melamine free from Dee Bee Foam, a leading foam converter and all 100% recyclable.
- Just colour battleship ( Faux Leather ) from chieftain fabrics based in Ireland was selected as it had all the right properties in the vinyl for a busy club.
- Made new kick boards to the same colour as the vinyl used . together with the re-sprayed heating grills
The new bench seating was assemble on site within the timescale agreed and, as you can see, the finished bar area looks magnificent especially the seating.
